At Sunrise Services, we’re environmental partners for petrochemical producers, carefully recovering spilled and scrap polymer from major petrochemical plants to return the resins to a clean, homogeneous, reusable state. As the needs of petrochemical plants have evolved and advanced, so have Sunrise’s recovery solutions. Our ability to address any polymer recovery challenges is driven by an ongoing commitment to innovation.

Waterway Recovery

Extracting plastic from waterways requires specialized recovery efforts due to the difficulty in finding and retrieving it, as well as the specific risks associated with plastics once they reach the water table. As plastics break down, they release harmful chemicals – such as BPA and phthalates – which can leach into groundwater sources and contaminate drinking water. Plastics can also alter soil and water chemistry, impacting the health of plants, animals, and microorganisms that rely on clean groundwater for years to come.

Jellybot

When we need to extract plastic from ponds, ditches, trenches, and production areas, we use a proprietary combination of vacuum assets and specialized recovery equipment that many other companies don’t possess. One piece of innovative equipment we use is our cutting-edge floating waste-collecting Jellyfishbot (also referred to as the Jellybot by our team). Its size and buoyancy enable recovery in hard-to-reach places and prevent spills from entering waterways.

This compact, remote-controlled robot sweeps up spills from water surfaces. This incredible piece of technology helps cut manual cleanup time and costs by efficiently reaching areas too small, shallow, or awkward for conventional cleanup vessels. It’s amazing to watch in action.
